In a month's time, courts will reopen and begin processing evictions again. This means that people, through no fault of their own, will begin to receive Section 21 notices from their landlords due to rent arrears.
Every week landlords send out invalid eviction notices with no consequence, as tenants are unaware of their rights and leave immediately.
We wrote this to help you understand when a Section 21 notice is invalid, allowing you more time to either negotiate with your landlord or make alternative living arrangements.
But we want to make sure more renters know their rights. So we've made a handy leaflet you can print and distribute to the houses on your street, the roads on your estate or the flats in your block. There's space to leave your own contact details on the leaflet too if you're comfortable doing so, but feel free to leave it blank.
Protecting yourself and your neighbours from unfair evictions will become more and more important over the coming months - the law may be on the side of your landlords but renters everywhere have strength in numbers.
If you are able to print for other people in your area, please let us know, and if you are unable to print at all, get in touch: firstname.lastname@example.org.
